Snails and a crescent moon

We're having some lovely autumnal weather at the moment! Today was very cold first thing, with a frost, but it was beautifully sunny and did warm up later. I walked along the Water of Leith, doing my weekly voluntary litter pick and wildlife recording.

I noticed this snail, isn't it sweet, hiding away under the leaf like that?

I also noticed the crescent moon, up above the changing trees.

Yes, so cute. I love the contrast between the spiral markings of the snail and the greenbackground.

Indeed, so cute. Almost look like a striped fruit hanging in there.

Thanks for being a volunteer who picks up trash. You truly make the world a better place!

The leaves where the snail is sitting look like spring leaves they are so fresh and green Juliet.

Beautiful hidden treasures and good of you to do that litter pickup. I guess that volunteer service is needed everywhere in the world, sadly. I do sometimes take a plastic bag with me when I walk along our road.

I have never seen that kind of snail here in Italy in the countryside, I mean with those circles.
Many of a single colour, light brown come to my balcony in Venice in the summer after a storm.

Many similar to yours are polka-dot and are actually shells on the beach.

The snails are all up and down our garage door in the mornings!

Fall is definitely there! Coming here in about 3 days too!
